Parent Governor - elected by the parents
Term: 08.12.15 - 7.12.19
I first joined the Governing Body at Cranford Primary School as a Parent Governor in 2011. I currently have two boys in Year 4. I have a strong passion for education and seeing my community's children succeed. During my time on the Governing Body, I have been part of and currently chair the Curriculum Committee. I have strong interpersonal skills which I believe are an asset when working with parents, staff and the Governing Body. I visit the school often and have a good insight into the development of the children and the process and procedures adopted by the school.
Throughout my governance, I have ensured a physical presence in and around the school and engaged with parents at every opportunity. I have established a rapport with the parental body that elected me, whilst continuing to maintain a strategic approach to school governance.
I have assisted to decide the priorities for improving the school, listened to parents’ opinions and taken account of them as I contribute to governors’ decisions. I have worked in partnership with the Headteacher, the rest of the Senior Leadership Team and co-operatively with other governors to raise standards and improve outcomes for all children and look forward to continuing to do so.
