PE & Sports Premium
At our school, we use the PE and Sport Premium funding to build a lasting legacy of health, teamwork, and physical confidence for every child. We design our sports programme to encourage healthy lifestyles, upskill our teaching staff, and expand our range of extracurricular activities.
Our Core Objectives
- Boost activity: Delivering at least 60 active minutes daily.
- Upskill staff: Providing high-quality professional development.
- Broaden horizons: Offering a diverse range of sports.
- Drive competition: Supporting participation in local tournaments.
- Promote wellbeing: Embedding positive, lifelong physical habits.
Below you will find our expenditure reports outlining exactly how this funding elevates our physical education provision.
Impact of the funding on participation and achievement in PE and Sport
Part of our PE and Sport Premium funding is used to support pupils in preparing for borough sporting events and competitions. Pupils benefit from the expertise of our coaches and teachers, helping them to develop their skills, confidence and readiness to perform well.
As a school, we value competitive sport and encourage pupils to participate in a range of interschool events. Our pupils have achieved success in a number of competitions, including cross-country, tag rugby and flag football.
How do we make sure improvements are sustainable?
Our Sport Impact specialist works with selected members of staff each half-term, providing specialist expertise across different areas of the PE National Curriculum. Over a six-week period, teachers develop their confidence and skills in a chosen area, such as gymnastics, dance or basketball, through a combination of team teaching, observation and specialist support.
This ongoing professional development strengthens teachers' subject knowledge and confidence, supporting high-quality PE teaching in the longer term. Many staff members have now benefited from several cycles of specialist support and have developed greater confidence in delivering the PE curriculum within their key stage.
In addition, an annual whole-school PE INSET further develops staff knowledge, skills and understanding of effective PE teaching and pedagogy.
