School Parliament

Last academic year, the School Council changed.

It is now called: The School Parliament as it promotes our British Values and has been created to model our very own government.

Each class have voted for their new representative, badges have been given and we meet every month.

What we are currently working on:

-Sharing our feedback on the school menu

-Carried out assemblies to share: who we are and what we do, the referendum and arguments for both sides in the referendum

-Carried out our own school referendum

-Votes have been counted and verified

SCHOOL PARLIAMENT WEEK:

Before the Christmas holidays, we held a Referendum - the motion was:

“Should we have more playground equipment?”

The children voted, using specially designed ballot papers, and the result was:

YES – 390 and NO - 39

At the moment, the school parliament are currently suggesting innovative ideas on how they could fundraise to purchase this new equipment.

Have a look at the certificate below which we recieved from the Houses of Parliament for our efforts during Parliament week.
