Co-opted Governor: elected by the other members of the Governing Body

Term: 03.09.15 - 02.09.19

My background is in Education.  I worked for the Local Authority for 25 years working with the Language Unit helping children whose mother tongue was not English and then with the Vietnamese boat children.

In 1984 I applied to work with the Education Welfare Service as an Education Welfare Office   My main duties were working with schools and families to improve attendance also working with other agencies such as outreach establishment and social care.

In 2010 I changed my job and started working for Cranford Community College and the feeder schools to Cranford (known as the Cranford Cluster) as an Attendance Support Officer. Cranford Primary School is part of the Cluster hence I am the attendance Officer here as well as the Community Governor. My duties include supporting attendance officers in schools to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality, meeting with parents to try and solve issues which may cause children not to attend school and home visits to talk with parents who are unable to attend meetings. Having worked for the London Borough of Hounslow for so many years I have built good relationships with the community.
